This nice homemade top with gold buttons down the back was $3. It's hard to see in the photo but the fabric has a lovely gold thread throughout it. I ended up removing the massive shoulder pads in it though ;o)
I'm not really a book person, but I found this lovely little book for $1 called 'Rhoda's Reward' that had been presented to a girl called Mabel McNeill 109 years ago. I really only bought it for Mabel's sake!
This little knit was $3
There was also a pure wool blanket in apple green (you know the ones with the satin trim) for $4. It was in such good condition and didn't have that 'wool' smell as some old blankets do. I ummed and ahhed for too long though because someone else snatched it up pretty quickly as I was wandering around. I bet I'll regret not buying that in a few weeks when winter hits. Oh well, I'm sure my hubby would've hated the colour anyway...... ;o)
and I had to share my new 50s pink laminate table with you all even though technically it's not from an op shop. It was from a little antique/secondhand shop on Lygon St in Brunswick East. It was marked at $25 but because I bought some other things there (including a mint condition 60's coat in primrose yellow!!!) he let me have the table for $10. It did take me a few hours though to clean up the chrome but I'm really happy with it as it fits in our unit perfectly. Now to find a matching set of 50's dining chairs! Anyone able to help me out ;o)
