North of the border

On a recent trip to Brisbane we stopped for a break in the village of Rathdowney in the SE of Queensland on the Mount Lindesay Highway.  In the back of the Information Centre I found the smallest opshop I have ever encountered.  It was for the local historical socirty who run the Informtion Centre and a museum.  It consisted of a dresser.  Its shelves had knickknacks and books and in the two drawers there were pieces of jewellery.  Forever one to hunt around I went through the drawers and found this bangle for $3.

It's greenstone and I think it's lovely.

If that is a real jade bangle, then you've got yourself a real find. I think they are worth somewhere between $200 and $400 in the shops! Well done!!

Isn't that fascinating! Both the bangle, and the description of the tiny opshop :-)
