Vinnies Oakleigh

Bottom 2 books were $1 each, the others were 2 for $1 - I know I have said this before but this is seriously the best op shop (even better than second hand book shops)!

Damn, I still have not made it to that op shop although I sometimes go to the Salvos in Oakleigh which is so close and full of good stuff! I'll have to check it out.

They haven't got as many clothes as some other shops, but they do have lots of furniture, knick knacks, and books! Amazing and uber cheap books!

I used to live in Oakleigh so know the area quite well. Like many op shops, it is pure luck with clothes - sometimes I have gone there and bought nothing, other times I have managed to get vintage (not necessarily dirt cheap mind you, but cheaper than at vintage stores). Most importantly, Vinnies is a great charity and the staff there are very friendly.

For some reason, maybe the heat, yard sales are down this month but the thrift stores are over flowing. I blew my budget over a week ago and the BIGGEST book sale of the year (local library) is still coming up.
In thrift stores the book prices are going up and up. :(

Vinnies Oakleigh is indeed THE best place for cheap books. Congratulations on your haul :)

I don't think second hand bookshops are cheap anyway - some of the ones I've been to are almost as dear as retail. In the opshops I go to, books vary between 50c (the little local church oppy) and $5 (bigger stores like Savers and Salvos). But if I really want the book I find, I'm happy because it is going to be a darn sight cheaper than retail.

The other day there was a cool bike I wanted but called today and it was gone :( (it was $35)
