The Fish Dress

Here's a cute little 70's dress I found at the Bargain Browser in Yarraville. The colours caught my eye at first, and I happily shelled out the $6 to take it home, thinking it was a pretty floral.

It wasn't until I got it home that The Man pointed out that the pattern was upside-down - which was when I realised the 'floral' was actually an underwater scene, complete with fish!!

I still love it!

A couple more recent finds were a nice pair of linen trousers at the Laverton Markets secondhand clothes stall for $3, and then an epic visit to the Laverton Lighthouse on the way back - what a gem that little place was! Not a lot of clothing on the racks, but some great pieces of older furniture and some sweet glassware. I picked up a lovely little old suitcase for $8, a nice retro pattern and some Footrot Flats - these are hard to find so I was very happy!

The best find at Laverton Lighthouse was of course this amazing vintage sewing machine - only $40!

Then later in the week at Footscray Savers, The Man nabbed these awesome vinyl poufs for $5 each.

A great week of opshopping I must say!

Saturday at Savers

Hi again! On Saturday boyf and I went to the Footscray Savers. When we got there we found out they were having a special Savers weekend with a few different things on- free face painting and lucky dips for children (so sad I was too old for one!!), 20% off if you spent over $50 and hourly door prizes (they gave you a ticket when you went in.) Of course we have the worst luck ever, so we never win anything :P But I ended up with a few nice things!

A dusty pink wool blazer/jacket $6.99:
A gorgeous red full skirt $7.99
A cream crochet Dotti cardigan $5.99 and a small leather satchel $6.99. (Does anyone know why my photo was uploaded the wrong way around?? The other ones are the right way!)
Hope you're all having a lovely week, more posts by me to come soon. More finds and photos at my blog Sweethearts and Celebrations if you're interested!

Wizardry

I loved the front cover of this book on "party games and amusements for young and old". The man on the front looks a bit like the man behind the curtain as the Wizard of Oz :) Anyhows when i opened the front cover and you will have to take my word on this because i don't have a photo But it reads Est. 1860 McGill's 183-5 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne. I was surprised to not see an email address however - only joking :)
Attention all shoppers please note that Chrissy deco's are out in full force every shop is preparing for the silly season.

Most people have a fairy garden i thought Lily and i could start a "bear-y garden" she was stoked. Happy hunting baby buntings :)
