Australian tea towels

A few weeks ago I took at day trip to Ballarat,
which has 10 op shops!
A few were still closed for the holidays
but I managed to get to 5 of them.

I found these lovely linen Australian tea towels
that had never been used.

And this wicker plant stand which I was going to paint white
but the natural look has grown on me.

Cheers, laura

Those tea towels are gorgeous! I wonder if the Tallangatta one is from before or after the town was moved to make way for Lake Hume?

Just so you know, there are probably more than ten oppies in the Rat! In fact there used to be a list of them which would be helpful if you visit again. The best one, I reckon, is the Salvo's in Wendouree. Super ace, super cheap, always many treasures. Love the tea towels x

Great tea towels! What will you do with them? I've got some beautiful t.t.s, but dare not use them for drying dishes in case they fade when they are washed!
I'm gonna have to get to Ballarat one day without my husband. He wouldn't mind going into one or two opshops, but ten would be too much for him! Maybe we should organise a bus from Melbourne for a group of us? It might have to be a week day though, depending on when all those opshops are open.

The tea towels are great, but I love the pot plant stand even more! I have been looking for something similar on eBay, but I might have to hit the op shops - again (any excuse my husband would say!) Also love the idea of a bus tour - count me in!

I've found quite a few unused tea towels too, the linen ones are great, much better than the new ones you can buy these days - great finds!

And I love the plant stand, don't paint it!
