From cushion covers to..... ??

I bought this pair of cushion covers from the Salvos in Gisborne VIC for $4.

I have turned them into kitsch BBQ (or should that be hungi) aprons for my sister and her DH who just moved to New Zealand. I love the way the fringe sways when one wears an apron.

I think these aprons will be saved especially to be worn when Aussie guests go over for a visit (I suspect they will have quite a few visitors...)...

half price bargains

Bought some things from Savers (Brunswick) last week when they had their 50% off sale day. It was so crazy and hectic, but still worth it in the end! The blouse with the peter pan collar was $3 and the boots (just in time for winter!) were $4. You can see more of my purchases on my blog.

What Can You Buy With $1...?

I found this cute Bonds jumper with gathering at the shoulders... couldn't resist for only $1. A Saturday morning drive along the coast a few weekends ago saw me call into All Souls, Sandringham. I couldn't believe my eyes... most items of clothing I saw were only priced at a couple of dollars! I also picked up a Sportsgirl argyle jumper ($1.50) and a 100% wool jumper ($3) that was perfect for my younger sister. Definitely recommend a trip down to this op shop!

Lots of Things Opp Shop, Poath Rd, Hughesdale

Just nabbed a ladies leather jacket.. marked down from $50 to a mere $25!! It's kind of 80s with puffyish arms... I love it!

This was actually a cute little op shop... lots of trinkets and books etc, not much selection in terms of clothes and a little pricier than I have been used to at other op shops. Still, definitely worth a look. There was a pair of leather gloves in the front window for only $10 (I already have 2 pairs so definitely wasn't going to get them!) Will be a great find for somewhere out there. I also noticed there were quite a few cup and saucer sets, pretty floral patterns mostly. Very cute shop, will definitely pop by again after my exams!

Another Bargain in the South East

I couldn't NOT share this gorgeous alpaca wool knit (French Connection) I picked up on Friday for only $8.99 at Salvation Army, Noble Park!

This store is much bigger than the one I mentioned in my last post - there is lots of furniture like sofas, dinner tables, desks etc. There is a bigger range of types of garments in this store, but I still think there are better quality items and definitely more brand names at the Dandenong store. This store does have way more mens wear than the other store though, quite a bit more actually. There is also a really decent book selection at this store!

Salvation in the South East

Today I popped by my favourite Salvation Army store out on Lonsdale Street, Dandenong. Managed to pick up 3 awesome buys all for around $13. I found an Italian silk scarf, a lovely Country Road white singlet, and a Tokito vest. A perfect little outfit and for a fraction of the price I'd even pay for one of these items in a store!

This store had some amazing branded jeans (ladies) in stock.. sadly too small for me but for any size 8-10s out there definitely worth a trip out to see. The store is open 9am-5pm Monday to Saturday. Note, there is another Salvo's in Dandenong - this one is next to a motorbike shop... a little further away from the main shopping strip but definitely worth visiting!
