So the other day I went for a little browse at the YES op shop in Forest Hill, really not intending to by anything, UNTIL I walk in and got smacked in the face straight away by these gorgeous Papillio Boston Clogs!
I have literally never ever successfully bought a pair of shoes from an op shop that fit me so well as these. Oh well, I tell a lie I did find some little green La Coste versions of the Converse sneaker, but they have no support at all really and so imagine my delight when I see these for $6.50!!
So eagerly, I try them on - it said size five but they looked bigger so I thought that could be an English size and it was!! They fit!! Woohoo!! And then I bled on them.
It seems in my delighted destraction while prancing along the op shop floor and secretly eyeing other shoppers for not being as lucky as I was while admiring my Papillio clad feet, I stubbed my toe severely enough for it to bleed - well, I couldn't leave them there with blood on them could I? That would be so gross. I felt obliged and so I gracefully did my duty to fellow op shoppers and forked over the huge sum of $6.50. What an inconvenience.
And they just so happen to be incredibly photogenic!
You know I checked it out and they retail for $100.00 smackers! Score.

Fantastic score, they are fabulous! Sorry about your toe!
Absolute Score!
Wow, they look like a Kate Spain - Flurry print
Bargain to you, well done
Aww thanks everyone! I am so pleased hehe - OMG I LOVE Kate Spain, infact there are similarities between her and William Morris, whom I also LOVE!
no way! I love birkies!
bloomin wonderful op shop score, I'd have been thrilled too!
Score! So pretty. Sorry about your toe - I dislocated one of mine last week (in a similar situation: was so excited to show hubby my vintage Etsy purchase that I kicked something on the way to showing him!)so I have toe sympathy.
Isn't it fascinating to see what 'grabs' people? I wouldn't have looked twice at those clogs. They are certainly pretty, but at my advanced age (grinning here) I'd do more than stub a toe wearing clogs - more likely to trip over and break my neck!
Thanks so much for your comments everyone! Grunge Queen I'm so sorry to hear about your dislocated toe! I can't believe you managed to do that lol, to toe sympathy!!
Gina, if you haven't tried birkenstocks or papillios, you should and you really are missing out - they are made to support feet properly, give 'em a go!
oh i love them. i'm so jealous. lucky you. :)
oh wow! what a score!
