Not sure if you are all aware of a second group organising op shop tours. I came across this link and really like the idea that the travel is environmentally friendly and the tour size is limited. I would like to do some of those out of the way areas that I am not familiar with.

I did an op shop tour through this group, but i didn't think it was really worth the $35 ticket price. I had fun, but the tour i did was collingwood to north melbourne and was made up mostly of second hand/vintage boutiques, which are more expensive than op shops. Still, it's possible that the ones further out of the city would be good. Nonetheless, the fact is that all you really get for your money is some op-shopping advice, and a chance to meet some new people.
I thought $35 was over the top for a conducted tour where you pay for your own ticket on public transport!!
I went a tour with them from Williamstown to Footscray and really enjoyed it - I posted it about it on my blog www.melhotornot.com
