I visited my local Vinnies (Hoppers Crossing) and came home with a lamp for which I paid a measly $3. I liked the shabby base but definitely not the shade (it doesn’t match the nursery!).
I’ve never attempted to change a shade before or really even considered it but I have been reading some blog posts which have totally inspired me.
Oh that's great! I chucked our lampshade out for the kerbside collection, it was so disgusting, and within an hour, someone had swooped on it. I guess I should have kept it and waited until someone like you turned up and gave it a new look!
Well done! You have inspired me. I have several lamps I have collected with the intention of making them over, and haven't had the courage or know-how to proceed. Now I see it can be done!
